Vega is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup building an AI-native platform for SecOps and Cyber Defense teams. As VP of Technical Account Management, you will own the entire post-sale technical engagement model, reporting directly to the Co-Founder & CTO.
You will inherit a foundation of existing TAMs and expand, build, and scale the function. Your responsibilities include defining playbooks, hiring and developing a global team of Technical Account Managers, and ensuring Vega's most important customers—Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises—achieve measurable value from the platform.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and own Vega's post-sale organization, establishing processes, playbooks, and engagement models that scale
- Define KPIs that reflect customer value and success metrics
- Hire, develop, and scale a global team of Technical Account Managers
- Ensure customers achieve real, demonstrable value: better detections, faster investigations, lower cost and complexity
- Build strong relationships with strategic accounts at technical and executive levels
- Serve as senior technical escalation point for critical issues on high-priority accounts
- Proactively identify portfolio risks and drive mitigation
- Partner with Account Management, Support, Product, and Engineering on retention and issue resolution
- Translate customer patterns, friction points, and gaps into product influence
- Represent customer reality in roadmap decisions, advocating for agentic detections and AI-driven security workflows
- Travel to customer sites for key engagements (~50% of the time)
Success metrics in first 30 days: deep knowledge of top accounts, clear assessment of team gaps and hiring plan. By 90 days: tiering and engagement model defined with playbooks, first hires productive, baseline metrics established (time-to-first-value, adoption depth, account health), and a working feedback loop between customer signal and product roadmap.
