Havoc AI, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, is a leader in all-domain collaborative autonomy. The company develops software-defined hardware that powers military and commercial-grade autonomous systems across sea, air, and land, enabling assets to sense, decide, and act together in complex and contested environments.
The VP of Finance will serve as a key strategic leader within the finance organization and partner closely with the CFO and executive team. This role owns financial planning and performance management, shapes the company's financial strategy, leads critical strategic initiatives, and plays a significant role in investor relations. The VP will ensure HavocAI has the financial visibility, discipline, systems, and processes required to support continued growth.
Responsibilities span strategic and execution levels: developing long-range financial plans and capital strategies while ensuring accurate forecasts, actionable reporting, strong operating plans, and disciplined financial decision-making. Key areas include:
**Financial Planning & Strategy**: Own annual and quarterly budgeting, long-range planning, cash flow forecasting, and monthly performance reporting. Develop and execute financial strategies supporting company objectives, including cash management, liquidity, capital allocation, and investment decisions. Drive financial discipline and fact-based decision-making across the organization. Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives and major business decisions. Develop sophisticated financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses. Identify key financial and operational risks and opportunities.
**Financial Performance & Business Partnership**: Establish clear reporting around financial performance, operating metrics, and organizational KPIs. Lead monthly and quarterly performance reviews analyzing actual results against plan. Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership. Partner with leaders across the company to establish financial targets and improve accountability.
**Investor Relations & Capital Strategy**: Serve as key partner to CFO on investor relations with increasing ownership. Develop financial analyses, reporting, and presentations supporting investor communications. Anticipate investor questions regarding performance and strategy. Support financing and capital planning activities. Manage relationships with external financial partners.
**Finance Systems & Scalability**: Lead development of scalable finance systems, processes, and reporting. Drive finance transformation initiatives improving speed, accuracy, and visibility. Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI in financial workflows. Partner with Accounting and other finance functions.
**Team Leadership**: Lead and develop the Finance team while planning for continued growth. Build scalable organizational structures and processes. Hire, develop, coach, and retain high-performing talent. Establish clear expectations and accountability while fostering continuous learning.
This is a highly visible leadership role for someone combining exceptional financial and analytical capabilities with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach. Success requires comfort creating structure in ambiguity, moving quickly when priorities change, and building a high-performing finance organization as HavocAI scales.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience, including 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Demonstrated success leading finance within a high-growth technology or similarly complex organization
- Deep expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial modeling
- Strong business and financial acumen with ability to connect financial performance to operational drivers
- Exceptional ability to translate complex financial information into compelling, executive-level insights
- Demonstrated experience building and developing high-performing finance teams
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfort operating in fast-paced environment with changing priorities and incomplete information
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to accurate, high-quality work
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style with willingness to move between strategic initiatives and detailed execution
