lemon.markets is a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform enabling FinTechs, banks, and wealth managers to offer investment products through a simple API. As part of the dwpbank Group, the company combines long-standing banking expertise with a technology-first approach to make investing more accessible across Europe.
You will be an integral part of building and scaling the Finance function at lemon.markets. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will develop processes and policies, support the Product Development team, and serve as the go-to person for external stakeholders and auditors. This role offers significant autonomy in shaping your area of responsibility and the opportunity to impact both the Finance department and product development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and optimizing Finance processes, particularly in Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, and Planning & Controlling
- Partnering with the Head of Finance on special and strategic projects to transition processes into scalable, best-in-class workflows
- Serving as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation
- Collaborating with the Management Team to build, monitor, and refine the annual financial plan
- Supporting product work by defining functional requirements, establishing test concepts, and documenting implications
- Fostering knowledge-sharing between Finance and Product Development teams to bridge finance and innovation

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance function at a bank, FinTech, or regulated institution, or with a Big Four or leading audit firm
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP under HGB, including RechKredV or RechVersV; IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Experience with group accounting and consolidation is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling
- Understanding of regulated financial environments and exposure to regulatory frameworks (IFR, CRR) is valuable
- Hands-on approach with ability to establish high-quality processes while remaining pragmatic
- Strong ownership mindset and intrinsic motivation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse audiences
- Comfort working in startup or lean organizational environments
- Background in financial sector (brokerage, banking) or FinTech/API-first technology companies
- Fluency in German or comfort working in a German-speaking regulatory environment (German fluency is a plus)
