Sofar Ocean is seeking a Voyage Analyst to join the Wayfinder product team. You will transform voyage, vessel performance, and weather data into clear, actionable insights for shipping customers, helping them evaluate performance against charter party terms, understand voyage optimization impact, and support performance claims with evidence-based analysis. Your primary responsibility is delivering accurate, timely voyage performance reports, including charter party and good-weather analysis. You will own final quality checks for customer-facing time charter and voyage performance reports, validating voyage details, source data, assumptions, and operational constraints. You'll investigate discrepancies and collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve them before delivery. You will translate customer-provided charter party terms and good-weather definitions into reporting criteria and validate that reports reflect those criteria. You'll also partner with technical teams to develop tailored performance analyses using Sofar's digital twin and weather data. Your secondary focus involves claims analysis and support. You will prepare clear, evidence-based claim summaries incorporating voyage performance analysis, weather assessments, and relevant case references. You'll work directly with customers to collect supporting evidence and explain findings, assumptions, and limitations. Additionally, you'll contribute to reporting product development by bringing expertise in the evolving voyage reporting landscape, including the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), FuelEU Maritime, and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII). You'll translate customer needs into reporting requirements, identify recurring reporting needs and manual bottlenecks, and partner with technical teams to develop features and automation that make reporting more reliable and scalable. You'll collaborate across cultures and time zones with teammates in the US, Denmark, Singapore, and India. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of experience in maritime shipping analysis, voyage performance reporting, or a closely related role - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality, assumptions, and detail - Expertise in charter party performance clauses, speed and consumption analysis, and good weather definitions - Interest in learning and using tools such as LLMs, Retool, Snowflake, and Notion to investigate data and improve reporting workflows - Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with ability to take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and adapt as priorities evolve - Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones BONUS: Passion for the ocean and helping the shipping industry operate more efficiently.
