True Anomaly is a defense and aerospace company building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment and counter threats. This role reports directly to the CFO and owns both FP&A and Program Finance functions end-to-end.
You will lead the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and resource allocation across a rapidly scaling, multi-program business. Key responsibilities include:
**Leadership & Strategic Partnership:**
- Partner with the CFO and executive team as owner of the company's operational financial picture, providing independent views on budgets, resource allocation, and investment tradeoffs
- Lead resource allocation across headcount, opex, capex, and IRAD; evaluate major operating decisions such as new programs, capacity investments, and make-vs-buy decisions
- Run monthly and quarterly business reviews with the leadership team, ensuring performance issues drive decisions and accountability
- Partner with Strategic Finance & Corporate Development on long-range planning by building the bottoms-up operational model
- Build and lead a growing, multi-layered FP&A and Program Finance team (Directors, Managers, Analysts)
- Set the roadmap for the function's policies, processes, and systems (ERP, EPM, program management tools, AI and automation)
**Financial Planning & Analysis:**
- Own the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts; build a planning process accurate and transparent enough that leadership relies on it for decision-making
- Deliver timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and board-level reporting with commentary explaining what happened and what to do about it
- Develop program economics visibility and predictability across the portfolio
- Support government customer engagement with financial insights and program performance data
You will work in a fast-growing company taking on some of the hardest problems in national security. Success means leadership makes decisions on a forecast it trusts, program economics are visible and predictable, resources flow to the company's highest priorities, and the finance organization is built to support the next stage of scale.
**Requirements:**
- Proven finance executive experience leading leaders and managing multi-layered teams
- Ability to earn credibility with engineers, program managers, and government customers
- Comfort operating in both program reviews and executive meetings
- Experience with FP&A, program finance, and resource allocation in complex, multi-program environments
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance; active TS/SCI clearance preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR compliance)
- Willingness to work 4 days per week in-office at Denver headquarters or Long Beach facility
