Salary: USD 235,000 - 274,000 / annual
The Honest Company (NASDAQ: HNST) is a digitally-native consumer products company founded in 2012, creating purpose-driven personal care, beauty, baby, and household products. The company operates via direct-to-consumer channels, third-party ecommerce, and approximately 50,000 retail locations across the US, Canada, and Europe.
This newly created VP role is a key strategic position reporting to the SVP Enterprise Strategy, Insights & Technology. You will serve as a predictive strategist and trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, shaping enterprise decision-making through deep consumer, shopper, market, and business performance understanding.
Key Accountabilities:
- Shape growth strategy, investment, innovation, portfolio decisions, and M&A evaluation
- Steward enterprise intelligence across consumer data, marketplace dynamics, syndicated data, foresight, and performance metrics
- Advise investor relations on factors driving investor messaging (marketplace performance, competitive dynamics, economic factors)
- Oversee brand marketing and equity research in partnership with SVP of Marketing and operating unit heads
- Ensure product portfolio is built to perform through testing and competitive performance practices
- Build organizational capability through team leadership, decision quality, and consumer-centricity
Core Responsibilities:
- Guide the organization on future growth sources by influencing portfolio strategy, brand investment, innovation priorities, and category expansion
- Represent external reality in executive decision-making by bringing deep understanding of consumer behavior, shopper needs, and competitive dynamics
- Lead evolution from reactive tracking to predictive forecasting using advanced analytics, AI, and behavioral data
- Deliver consumer-demand validation and market sizing for category entries and strategic partnerships
- Partner across Sales, Category Management, Finance, IT, and Data Engineering to govern the company's syndicated data ecosystem (Circana, Numerator)
- Develop proprietary consumer and market intelligence as lasting enterprise decision systems
- Monitor brand health metrics (awareness, loyalty, sentiment, NPS) and flag shifts early
- Embed consumer-centered thinking across Marketing, Sales, Product, R&D, Finance, and Strategy
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team
- Serve as strategic advisor to CEO and business leaders on integrated consumer, market, and business performance perspectives
Requirements:
- 15+ years in consumer insights, market research, or strategic planning, including 5+ years in an executive role leading a team
- Track record of translating consumer and market intelligence into measurable commercial impact and ROI
- Direct experience governing syndicated data ecosystems (e.g., Circana, Numerator)
- Proven experience partnering with data engineering, tech infrastructure, or product architecture teams
- Fluency in predictive analytics, AI, social listening, and telemetry data
- Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative research, behavioral economics, and modern data-stack applications
- Exceptional communication skills with track record of influencing C-suite executives and board members
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Statistics, Behavioral Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
