Pilot is a fintech company providing back-office services to over 3,000 small businesses, with a recently launched AI accounting platform called Meridian. The company is experiencing rapid growth across both its core services and new product lines. You will join as Senior Data Analyst to own marketing analytics and drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. Marketing is Pilot's largest revenue driver and spend line, and with the launch of Meridian, the marketing motion is rapidly evolving with more events, brand investment, and channels. Attribution, tracking, and reporting have become increasingly complex and critical. Key Responsibilities: - Own multi-touch attribution modeling and move the marketing team away from Salesforce campaign influence reporting - Measure channel efficiency at the top of the funnel: cost per lead, SQL, and pipeline dollar by channel and campaign group, with budget allocation recommendations - Design, run, and report on incrementality tests including holdout and geo tests - Measure brand and event channels (podcasts, conferences, sponsorships, webinars) using observed lift where controlled tests are unavailable - Own marketing unit economics: LTV, CAC, CAC payback by segment, cost to serve, and ideal customer profile analysis - Build GTM analytics for the new product line as deal volume arrives, including lead scoring and closed-lost analysis - Support lifecycle and nurture marketing with measurement and re-engagement driver analysis - Define the marketing data model in dbt, working with analytics engineers on platform work - Build self-service reporting dashboards for marketers to track campaign and channel performance - Partner with marketing leadership on planning and budget cycles You will work closely with the marketing team and company leadership, serving as a strategic partner—not just a data consumer—in finding the right analytical solutions. The role requires end-to-end ownership and a point of view on where the domain should go. Pilot's data stack: Snowflake, dbt, and Looker; marketing tools include Marketo, Marketo Measure, and Salesforce. The team actively uses Claude Code for process efficiency. Location: San Francisco, CA with 3 days/week in office (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays). Requirements: - 5+ years in analytics, including owning a business domain and stakeholder relationships - Deep marketing analytics experience: channel performance (paid and organic), lead-to-closed-won funnel, and unit economics - Built or replaced an attribution model and can explain its limitations - Experience designing and interpreting incrementality tests (geo, holdout, comparable) with statistical work in Python or R - Ability to design comparisons and controls; states plainly what data does and does not support - Strong SQL; builds reporting in Looker or comparable BI tool for non-analyst users - Comfortable building and extending dbt models, or able to learn quickly - Works directly with executives, reframing requests to answer underlying questions Nice-to-Haves: - Media mix modeling or top-down measurement experience - Marketo, Marketo Measure, or comparable marketing automation/attribution tools - Salesforce campaign influence reporting - Ad platform APIs, PartnerStack, GA, or other spend/engagement sources - Brand or offline measurement experience - ABM account funnel work - Production dbt experience - B2B SaaS experience with both sales-led and self-serve motions - Fintech, accounting software, or professional services background
