As Value Stream Manager for the Industrial & Specialty Products operation, you will be the senior operational leader accountable for overall outcomes, profitability, and advancement of a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing value stream. You will manage production, engineering, quality, and supply chain operations across established machining lines, with focus on eliminating waste, optimizing flow, and delivering safety, quality, and on-time performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the operation while managing daily production, maintenance, quality, and logistics
- Build and lead a high-performing team including production supervisors, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and technicians
- Champion Lean manufacturing methodologies (Value Stream Analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, SMED, 5S) to reduce waste in a complex, changeover-intensive environment
- Monitor and improve key metrics including OEE, productivity, scrap, and labor efficiency using problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Own the value stream's budget and P&L, implementing cost-reduction strategies and managing expenses to achieve financial targets
- Manage production scheduling and material forecasts to ensure availability and reliable on-time delivery
- Partner with sourcing, supply chain, technical, quality, and commercial teams to align manufacturing capabilities with customer requirements
- Optimize manufacturing processes, automation strategies, and quality control systems for high-yield, cost-efficient production
- Ensure zero-incident safety culture and compliance with OSHA, FDA, and environmental regulations
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience); 5+ years in machine shop management; 3+ years in a leadership role in sophisticated manufacturing; solid understanding of machining processes and Lean production; experience with high-mix, low-volume production preferred.
