OpenAI's Trust, Safety & Risk Operations team is seeking an experienced User Safety & Risk Operations Analyst to join the Global Safety Response Operations team. This role is part of a 24/7 global operation providing escalation management and rapid response for user safety, risk, and regulatory issues across OpenAI's products. You will handle high-priority cases requiring human judgment, triaging and resolving urgent and sensitive escalations across multiple harm and risk areas including policy enforcement, content moderation, fraud prevention, developer risk, and privacy/regulatory matters. Working across multiple systems and tools, you'll manage user reports, internal escalations, and investigations while ensuring alignment with policy and legal requirements. Key responsibilities include: resolving high-priority cases with appropriate timeliness; operating incident management for escalations requiring nuanced policy or legal interpretation; identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities; conducting quality reviews and providing feedback to global teams; analyzing trends and generating insights from case data to inform policy and product improvements; and maintaining accuracy and composure when handling sensitive or time-critical situations. This is a rotating shift role requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 on-call coverage model. You will work a standard 5x8 week that includes weekend shift coverage (e.g., Saturday–Wednesday). The company offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in-office per week and relocation assistance. Note: This role involves potential exposure to sensitive content including material that is sexual, violent, or otherwise disturbing.
