Reporting to the Country Director for Germany & Austria, you will own the trading function for Germany, one of the company's most important growth markets. This is a fast-paced, collaborative role where you'll manage day-to-day and week-to-week stock positions, drive pricing strategy, optimize the on-site customer experience, and prepare for peak gifting moments (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day). You'll work in a matrix structure across operations, central planning, range, and product design teams. Key responsibilities include: **Stock & Forecasting:** Manage daily and weekly stock positions with central planning, flower buying, and operations teams to maintain strong availability while minimizing waste. Use historical data, customer behavior, and market calendars to forecast accurately. Feed into longer-term forecasts using customer insights and market context to guide SKU and product growth decisions. **Pricing & Range:** Own site pricing strategy, balancing selling price and margin based on product cost structure. Work closely with the range team on bestsellers, market needs, and pricing architecture to ensure a diverse product range across customer shopping missions. **On-Site Experience:** Own the on-site experience using stock levels, product naming, and ordering to grow or rebalance customer demand. Ensure demand drivers are visible, run market-relevant tests, and manage the A/B testing roadmap from idea to launch, working with the BI team on insights and next steps. **Peak Trading:** Prepare for and deliver peak gifting moments by working with forecasting and planning teams to achieve accurate order volume and delivery date forecasts, maximizing growth while minimizing waste. **Trading Operations:** Prepare trading meeting agendas and open each meeting with market context. Build strong relationships with in-house operations, central planning, range, and product design teams. Work with UK and Netherlands trading teams and support trading in other markets. **AI & Automation:** Build and embed AI tools and agents into day-to-day trading, from automating forecasting inputs to spotting emerging customer demand trends. Collaborate on larger AI projects across trading teams and stakeholders to roll out best tools and workflows across markets. The role is based in the London office with an expectation of being in-office 2 days per week, with full office presence and travel to Amsterdam during peak periods. The commercial team is distributed across Europe and the UK, gathering as a full team once annually for an offsite. **Requirements:** - Significant experience in an operational, analytical, financial, or consulting role - Strong Excel/Google Sheets ability; comfortable managing, building, and interpreting data models - Analytical mindset with demonstrable numerical skillset (STEM background a plus) - Fluent English speaker (C2 level); strong German language skills are a plus - Proven experience using AI tools to improve work (e.g., automating reports, streamlining analysis) - Collaborative with excellent communication, relationship, and stakeholder management skills - Proactive team member who takes ownership, balances multiple priorities, and gets stuck in - Intellectually curious; loves tackling problems with others - Detail-oriented with consistent delivery of excellent work - Empathetic decision-maker who puts customers first - Innovative mindset; enjoys new tech, testing, learning, and trying new things - Enthusiastic and driven with a positive outlook
