Impulse Space is seeking a Test Supervisor to lead the test operations team responsible for designing, building, and operating world-class test equipment supporting spacecraft component development and production. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership.
You will supervise all test area activities, managing a team of approximately 10 technicians while ensuring efficient workflow, safety, and quality standards. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring technicians, providing performance feedback, and fostering a continuous improvement culture. You'll coordinate with leadership and engineering teams on scheduling, resource allocation, and priorities, while maintaining regular status reporting.
On the technical side, you'll maintain and troubleshoot test hardware and shop equipment, calibrate instrumentation, stock consumables, and perform verifications of flight hardware with clear and precise documentation. You'll respond to production-related non-conformances by driving root cause analysis and disposition, maintain process planning documents, and provide feedback on improvements.
You'll also participate in scaling the team by assessing candidates and providing feedback during the hiring process.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalency, 5+ years of experience with flight hardware assemblies and/or test production environments, and 2+ years in a leadership role. You must demonstrate safe operation of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical power systems, experience with complex test equipment and data acquisition systems, proficiency with basic fabrication techniques, and the ability to troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems.
