Anduril Industries is seeking a Test Operations Manager to lead operational excellence across its Enterprise Test Capabilities (ETC) division. ETC develops, operates, and scales shared physical test infrastructure and technical expertise required to validate Anduril's defense technology products. The test portfolio spans environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, HALT, TVAC), battery testing (cell/module/pack characterization, abuse testing, BMS validation), propulsion testing (engine test cells, thrust/torque measurement), aerodynamic testing (wind tunnel operations, flow visualization), and structural testing.
In this role, you will serve as the single point of accountability for lab operations across multiple buildings and sites. You will directly manage a team including calibration technicians, a lab administrator, and lab coordinators, with full responsibility for hiring, performance reviews, professional development, and day-to-day direction.
Key responsibilities include: owning the master test schedule across all test domains and resolving scheduling conflicts between competing program priorities; developing staffing plans to support current and projected lab utilization demands, including shift coverage and surge capacity; driving toward and sustaining a 75% equipment utilization target; defining, tracking, and reporting operational metrics including utilization rates, schedule adherence, equipment downtime, and backlog; overseeing equipment maintenance, calibration status, and operational readiness for all lab assets; establishing and managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime; coordinating with external vendors for equipment repair, calibration services, and new equipment installation; maintaining accurate asset inventory and equipment lifecycle records; developing, documenting, and enforcing standard operating procedures for lab operations, scheduling, and equipment use; ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures; and partnering with EHS to maintain laboratory safety certifications and audit readiness.
You will also support the scaling of ETC's physical footprint, assisting with capacity expansion plans, new test facility standup, and ensuring operational readiness as the organization grows across sites.
