Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, developing high-speed optical interconnects and photonic engines to power next-generation computing systems. The company is Series B funded and led by industry veterans.
As Test Maintenance Engineer, you will own the setup, qualification, and ongoing maintenance of test equipment supporting 800G and 1.6T optical transceiver production lines. Your core responsibilities include:
• Installing, configuring, and qualifying optical transceiver test systems, including bring-up, calibration, and correlation to reference standards
• Executing preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize tester uptime and minimize production line downtime
• Planning and conducting Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to validate measurement system accuracy across testers and sites
• Implementing statistical process control (SPC) to monitor tester performance, detect drift, and identify out-of-control conditions
• Troubleshooting and repairing tester hardware, fixtures, and instrumentation (optical/electrical); driving root cause analysis on failures
• Tracking tester uptime, MTBF/MTTR, and equipment health metrics; developing continuous improvement plans
• Managing spare parts inventory, calibration schedules, and preventive maintenance programs
• Supporting new product introduction (NPI), tester capacity expansion, and test program changes in collaboration with process and product engineering
• Ensuring all changes are documented and managed under change control per quality management system requirements
• Partnering with equipment suppliers on tester buy-off, upgrades, and field issue resolution
• Preparing equipment and test performance reports with data analysis and trend identification
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field with relevant optical transceiver test and equipment maintenance experience. Direct hands-on experience with optical testing equipment (BERT/error detectors, optical power meters, TOSA/ROSA/module test stations, environmental chambers). Experience with GR&R studies and SPC application. Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, fixtures, and instrumentation. Track record of improving tester uptime and reliability in high-volume manufacturing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of quality management systems. Data analysis skills using statistical tools. Ability to work in geographically diverse cross-functional teams. Strong English communication (verbal and written). International travel required.
