Together AI is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to serve as the first line of defense for customers building AI training, fine-tuning, and inference solutions on the company's GPU cluster platform. You will engage directly with enterprise customers to resolve complex technical challenges involving Kubernetes GPU clusters, acting as a customer-facing SRE to ensure cluster health and stability.
Key responsibilities include: troubleshooting and resolving issues with GPU clusters, Kubernetes workload management, and production infrastructure for enterprise customers; proactively monitoring cluster health and communicating hardware issues (thermal throttling, BMC failures, missing GPUs, NVLink/InfiniBand degradation) with remediation steps; investigating and resolving storage and networking problems including Weka filesystem degradation and InfiniBand link failures; maintaining Slurm cluster operations, node repair/migration, and fleet rebalancing; collaborating with Engineering, Research, and Product teams to escalate complex issues and drive roadmap improvements based on customer insights; and maintaining comprehensive documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs.
You will become a product expert in the GPU Cluster service, serving as the last line of technical defense before escalation to engineering teams. The role involves close collaboration with product and sales to drive continuous improvement of offerings and transform customer insights into actionable product enhancements.
Schedule: Full-time position working US daytime hours. Initially Monday–Friday for onboarding and ramp-up (typically several months), then transitioning to a 4-day shift covering both weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) plus two weekdays, 10 hours per day, with 2 additional hours of on-call coverage on weekends. Flexibility required for holiday and night support as business needs dictate.
