Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will serve as a first-line interface with Adyen's merchants worldwide, operating within a 24/7 follow-the-sun support model. Your primary responsibilities include providing direct technical support throughout the merchant lifecycle, troubleshooting API integrations and platform issues, and advising merchants on implementation best practices. You will be a key knowledge resource on the Adyen platform, underlying web-stack technologies, and industry-standard integration methods. The role requires you to act as an internal product advocate, tracking product feedback and issues from merchants to inform platform improvements. You will work across technical and commercial teams at Adyen, with your support directly impacting merchants' ability to process payments and grow their businesses. The team is international, diverse, and merchant-focused, thriving on shared success. Due to the 24/7 nature of payments processing, this role includes occasional participation in a planned rotating schedule for weekend and holiday coverage, compensated with time off and additional pay. Key qualifications include strong API troubleshooting skills, familiarity with tools like Postman, and knowledge of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, scripting). Networking knowledge is a plus. You should demonstrate excellent written and verbal English communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle ambiguity and make quick decisions under pressure. Self-driven and flexible, you maintain high productivity with minimal supervision and take accountability for your work. Experience in fast-paced, uncertain environments is valued. The role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid arrangement requiring 3 days per week in the office. Adyen is an office-first company that values in-person collaboration.
