Factorial is hiring a Technical Solutions Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineer / FDE) to support enterprise and strategic customers through late-stage pre-sales, onboarding, and production adoption. You'll be the technical point of contact for complex implementations, partnering with Product, Engineering, Security, Data, Partnerships, and Sales teams to remove blockers and ensure smooth go-live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end technical workstreams for enterprise accounts
- Lead technical discovery, workshops, and solution design sessions with technical and business stakeholders
- Translate customer requirements into executable delivery plans with clear scope, risks, dependencies, milestones, and acceptance criteria
- Guide technical onboarding: advanced configuration, data onboarding, integrations, testing, validation, and go-live
- Act as escalation owner for complex technical blockers, driving resolution end-to-end
- Investigate and diagnose difficult issues using logs, data, and operational signals
- Build lightweight tools (scripts, validators, queries, utilities) for migrations, reconciliation, data cleanup, or verification
- Provide technical support via email and ticketing, addressing questions and guiding customers on functionality and integrations
- Monitor integration-related issues and ensure clear customer communication through resolution
This is a customer engineering role requiring both hands-on technical problem-solving and confident stakeholder management. You'll work with enterprise customers on complex HR tech implementations, spanning APIs, data management, identity/access, and integrations.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in technical consulting, implementations, solutions engineering, customer engineering, advanced support, or professional services in a SaaS environment
- Engineering mindset with ability to debug, investigate data, and script when needed, while also leading customer conversations confidently
- Proven delivery management skills: experience with sprints or similar execution cadences, comfort with Jira or equivalent, ability to manage dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication
- Strong troubleshooting fundamentals: root-cause analysis, mitigation design, incident communication
- Hands-on knowledge in at least two of: APIs and integrations, data management and migration, identity and access
- Comfortable operating with enterprise customers: confident in senior stakeholder meetings (including occasional in-person), skilled at managing scope/risks/expectations, able to document trade-offs
- Thrive with autonomy and ownership: prioritize well, maintain momentum, coordinate across teams
- Fluent in English and Spanish
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise security processes (security questionnaires, reviews, change windows)
- Familiarity with cloud concepts (Azure or equivalent) and observability tooling (logs, metrics)
- Background in HR tech, payroll, time tracking, identity, or complex B2B domains
- Experience in fast-paced environments with ambiguity and change
