Salary: USD 196,000 - 245,000 / annual
Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Engagement team, which is responsible for improving core Discord features including messaging, voice chat, user profiles, and app navigation. The Engagement team focuses on making Discord the best place for people to play games and hang out with friends online.
In this role, you will build delightful, high-impact products across the full stack with a strong emphasis on quality, performance, and user experience. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, UX Research, and Marketing teams to shape the team's vision and roadmap. Your work will involve balancing delight, speed of delivery, and measurable impact by partnering with design and product stakeholders.

**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Specialized experience building consumer-facing products on web and mobile platforms
- Domain expertise in web or mobile front-end development (or both)
- Eagerness to learn new languages and frameworks; comfort working across the full stack when needed
- Experience working in product teams with clear metrics goals and demonstrable positive impact on customers
- Strong product sense and attention to detail in UX design
- Motivation to help team members succeed through empathetic feedback and collaborative learning
**Bonus:**
- Active Discord user with understanding of core features and communication flows
- Experience with React Native products
