Salary: USD 100,000 - 140,000 / annual
Lunar Energy is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to serve as the technical backbone for the quality and success of residential clean energy installations. Based primarily at the Mountain View headquarters with local and national travel, you'll provide remote and on-site support to channel partners and Field Service Engineers, acting as a subject-matter expert on Lunar's solar, battery, and EV charging products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver remote support (phone, live-chat, email) to installation partners and field teams, coordinating site visits as needed
- Serve as the technical expert for installing and troubleshooting all Lunar products, performing root-cause analysis both remotely and on-site
- Assess and approve field RMAs; own escalations end-to-end through resolution
- Monitor system alerts via the Lunar dashboard to proactively identify site issues and recommend necessary visits
- Analyze telemetry and key metrics to identify installer errors and recommend training, design, or hardware/software improvements
You'll need 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and installing residential solar, battery, and/or EV charging systems. An engineering degree or equivalent technical field experience is required. Preferred qualifications include an Electrical Journeyman certification or license, solid knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes, ability to read single-line drawings and technical specs, comfort interpreting device telemetry, and strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical issues. A clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check are required. You should be flexible with scheduling, including occasional weekends/holidays, and willing to travel primarily within your local region.
