Salary: CAD 90,000 - 120,000 / annual
Xanadu is building quantum computers to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Engineering / Program Management team in Toronto.
In this role, you will drive complex engineering projects from planning through successful delivery, working closely with engineering, R&D, and cross-functional teams. You will establish project plans, track execution, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead planning and execution of technical projects from initiation through completion, defining scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies
- Develop, track, and maintain project schedules and execution plans using project management tools to improve visibility, accountability, and execution
- Identify schedule, resource, technical, and execution risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Partner closely with engineering leads, architects, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate project kickoffs, planning sessions, status reviews, and retrospectives
- Establish clear ownership and accountability across project activities while managing cross-team dependencies and resolving execution blockers
- Drive alignment when there are competing priorities or changing requirements
- Understand and communicate the impact of technical decisions on schedule, scope, cost, and resources
- Maintain clear and accurate project documentation, ensuring important decisions and action items are documented and followed through
- Provide concise project status updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders, establishing effective communication mechanisms across teams and time zones
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve project execution, planning, tracking, communication, and project management best practices
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in technical project management or engineering roles
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience working with software, hardware, systems, or other technical engineering teams
- Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and drive them toward resolution
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced technology environment
- Experience managing projects involving multiple engineering disciplines or teams
- Experience with technical product development, hardware/software integration, semiconductor, quantum computing, or other advanced technology environments
- Experience creating project schedules, roadmaps, dashboards, and status reports
- PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or other project/program management certification
- Technical background or previous experience working as an engineer, developer, systems engineer, or technical analyst
