Nautilus Biotechnology is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the development and commercial launch of their single-molecule protein analysis platform. This is a critical role managing multiple cross-functional projects from early R&D phases through commercial product release.
You will manage medium to large-scale projects involving new assays, consumables, software, and hardware. Key responsibilities include defining project scope and quarterly goals aligned with company objectives, developing detailed project plans and schedules, and managing dependencies across multiple simultaneous initiatives. You'll collaborate with R&D leadership, scientists, product management, and manufacturing teams to translate technical risks into actionable plans with measurable metrics.
This role bridges technical and commercial functions. You'll facilitate prioritization and tradeoff decisions, framing them in commercial terms (customer impact, launch timing) for leadership decision-making. You'll own the integrated commercial launch plan for the first product release, managing the interface between development milestones and customer-facing commitments. You'll also drive the transition from development to sustaining operations with clear handoffs and documented ownership.
You'll work independently with minimal supervision, developing strategies and communicating effectively across all organizational levels. Responsibilities include identifying and mitigating project risks, managing project schedules using tools like Smartsheet and Jira, preparing meeting agendas and action items, and escalating early when commercial commitments are at risk.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of project management experience in biotechnology or life sciences product development, with deep knowledge of product development processes (PDP). You should have successfully taken products from concept to commercial launch and possess technical expertise in cross-functional integration across life sciences, software, and hardware domains. Commercial judgment is as important as technical depth.
