Tenstorrent is building cutting-edge AI technology with a focus on high-performance computing, ease of use, and cost efficiency. The company has developed a high-performance RISC-V CPU from scratch and is building an integrated AI platform spanning software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors.
You will join the SoC (System-on-Chip) team as a Technical Program Manager, overseeing the development and integration of multiple chiplets that support RISC-V CPU servers, machine learning processors, memory, and I/O functionality. This is a hybrid role based in Tokyo, Japan.
In this position, you will:
- Coordinate complex semiconductor development programs across internal teams and external contributors
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, track milestones and deliverables, and lead program reviews
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while driving cross-functional collaboration across design, verification, physical design, DFT (Design for Test), and software teams
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Identify program risks, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve execution across the SoC development lifecycle
- Guide chiplet-based SoC programs from early architecture through tape-out
- Coordinate internal engineering organizations, external contributors, and senior stakeholders on high-impact semiconductor programs
You will gain deep expertise in how complex chiplet-based SoC programs are planned and delivered, how RISC-V CPU server and machine learning processor requirements influence integration and dependencies, and how to manage high-impact semiconductor development at scale.
The company values collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. They are growing their team and welcome candidates at various experience levels; during the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that assessment.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in SoC chip design, technical program management, or engineering leadership
- Strong understanding of the chip development lifecycle, including microarchitecture, design, verification, DFT, physical design, integration, and tape-out
- Familiarity with industry standards and technologies such as AMBA, NoC, RISC-V, PCIe/CXL, and Ethernet
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain program plans, track milestones and deliverables, lead program reviews, manage multiple projects, and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Strong judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to proactively manage risks and dependencies
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
