Anthropic is building custom silicon for Claude and seeking a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end execution from architecture definition through tapeout, first-silicon bring-up, and production ramp. You'll work alongside domain experts in front-end design, verification, physical design, DFT, analog/mixed-signal, foundry, and packaging to build the execution machinery for this program from scratch.
Key responsibilities include owning the integrated silicon program plan covering architecture closure, RTL freeze, design verification milestones, IP delivery, physical design closure, DFT, tapeout, and post-silicon bring-up. You'll drive external partner execution across ASIC design services, IP vendors, foundry, and packaging/test providers. You'll run technology and IP selection as a program, tracking candidate vendors, driving evaluations, and making build/buy/license decisions with engineering leadership.
You'll build lightweight execution mechanisms—milestone definitions, risk and dependency tracking, design reviews, release management, and executive reporting—that engineers actually use. You'll manage the interface between silicon and its consumers, including hardware systems teams and inference/kernels/compiler teams, ensuring trade-offs land as coordinated decisions. You'll own the post-silicon program including bring-up planning, ATE/test handoff, sample distribution, validation, and the path to production readiness.
As part of Anthropic's AI-first approach, you'll develop and share AI-assisted approaches to program management, including schedule and dependency modeling, spec and milestone consistency checking, partner-deliverable tracking, and status synthesis.
Minimum qualifications: 8+ years in silicon/SoC program management or equivalent role owning a chip schedule end-to-end. Direct ownership of at least one program that taped out and reached production with detailed knowledge of milestones, slips, and mitigation. Working technical fluency across the silicon lifecycle. Experience running external silicon partners. Track record of building program mechanisms from scratch on ambiguous, fast-moving efforts. Strong written communication. Comfort with high autonomy and limited process.
