As Technical Program Manager (Science), you will serve as a critical bridge between research, engineering, and commercial teams. You'll lead complex technical programs spanning frontier research, AI/ML model development, data workflows, and infrastructure. Your responsibilities include translating scientific and business objectives into executable plans, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams (materials scientists, AI researchers, engineers), and managing the feedback loop between experimental results and model development to continuously improve discovery accuracy.
You will own planning and delivery of both internal research programs and high-stakes customer projects. This includes scoping, resource allocation, timeline management, risk mitigation, and establishing scalable processes for model development lifecycles. You'll serve as the primary technical contact for industry partners and research institutions, facilitating discussions, driving project scoping, and managing joint development initiatives and pilot programs from conception through deployment.
Additionally, you'll work with the global TPM team to refine processes, implement metrics for tracking technical milestones, coordinate compliance and regulatory considerations, support IP and publication processes, and drive organizational scaling through change management and data-driven continuous improvement.
The role requires a strong technical or scientific background (Natural Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related field) and proven experience as a Technical Program Manager in scientific or AI/ML environments. You must demonstrate technical fluency across model architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software development lifecycle, combined with exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing technical customer projects, navigating ambiguity, and working across highly technical researchers and non-technical partners is essential. Bonus qualifications include materials science, experimental chemistry, or physics background; HPC infrastructure experience; or familiarity with molecular simulation and cheminformatics tools.
Based in London or Cambridge with expectation of three days per week in office, plus regular travel to Amsterdam and Berlin for collaboration.
