Motive empowers physical operations teams—from Fortune 500 enterprises to small businesses—with a unified platform for managing drivers, vehicles, equipment, and fleet spend. The company serves nearly 100,000 customers across transportation, logistics, construction, energy, field service, manufacturing, agriculture, and the public sector.
The Platform Services Organization is the engineering backbone, delivering foundational infrastructure, developer tooling, cloud operations, SRE reliability, data pipelines, and core services. As Motive scales, this organization requires unified execution across horizontal initiatives.
You will join as a Technical Program Manager reporting directly to the VP of Platform Services Engineering. This is a strategic operational leadership role driving high-impact, cross-cutting technical programs spanning Motive's entire product and engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include: translating organizational priorities into executable program roadmaps with measurable outcomes; leading end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional technical programs; driving alignment across engineering and partner teams through clear goals, milestones, dependencies, and risk management; building scalable program mechanisms (roadmap reviews, status reporting, escalation paths, success metrics); identifying systemic issues and execution gaps early; influencing technical and business stakeholders on tradeoff decisions; mentoring others on program management practices; driving monthly/quarterly business reviews and executive reporting; collaborating with Product leadership on roadmap-to-program mapping; and implementing dynamic tracking frameworks (Gantt, single-source-of-truth models) that flag delivery risks weeks in advance.
You will act as a cross-functional orchestrator—not managing day-to-day sprints or acting as an administrative taskmaster, but instead driving platform adoption, unblocking architectural shifts, and aligning multi-team investments across the company.
Required: 7+ years in technical program management, engineering program management, or related roles in software, infrastructure, or platform organizations. Proven track record leading large, ambiguous, multi-team programs with significant cross-functional dependencies and measurable business or platform impact. Strong technical fluency to engage credibly with engineering leaders on architecture, tradeoffs, delivery risks, and execution plans. Demonstrated strength in structuring programs, driving decision-making, and solving complex problems in fast-paced, evolving environments. Experience building alignment across senior stakeholders and improving execution standards.
