Fal is a generative media infrastructure platform powering the next generation of AI products. The company provides high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability tools that enable developers and enterprises to move from idea to production at scale.
You will own the operational and commercial performance of the hyperscalers, neoclouds, and GPU infrastructure providers that power fal's compute fleet. This is a hands-on role bridging infrastructure operations and commercial vendor management, responsible for translating contract commitments into measurable operating standards, resolving performance issues, recovering credits and remedies, and ensuring capacity readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning post-signature relationships with GPU infrastructure providers (hyperscalers, neoclouds, colocation partners, strategic compute vendors)
- Translating contractual commitments into measurable SLAs, scorecards, escalation procedures, and internal operating requirements
- Tracking vendor performance metrics: availability, provisioning timelines, capacity delivery, support responsiveness
- Leading escalations when vendors miss commitments, coordinating across Infrastructure, Capacity Planning, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders
- Pursuing service credits, remedies, and corrective-action plans until full resolution
- Running vendor governance including operating reviews, executive business reviews, performance reporting, renewal readiness, and compliance tracking
- Partnering with Capacity Planning and Strategic Sourcing to align committed capacity with demand forecasts and identify supply risks
- Reconciling invoices against contracted pricing, delivered capacity, usage, and credits
- Maintaining accurate records of commitments, renewals, open claims, invoices, and vendor obligations
- Building vendor-management processes, dashboards, and operating cadence as infrastructure footprint scales
Required experience: 5+ years in infrastructure vendor management, cloud partnerships, strategic sourcing, procurement operations, or related function. Direct experience managing commercial relationships with hyperscalers, neoclouds, GPU providers, or large-scale infrastructure vendors. Experience operationalizing complex infrastructure agreements with committed capacity, SLAs, service credits, and commercial remedies. Track record resolving vendor-performance issues while maintaining relationships. Strong analytical and operational skills including performance reporting, invoice reconciliation, credit calculations, and contract compliance. Technical fluency to work with infrastructure engineering and capacity-planning teams. Experience running QBRs, vendor scorecards, executive escalations, and corrective-action plans. Ability to build processes from scratch in fast-moving environments. Clear communication and attention to detail.
Bonus: GPU capacity management across multiple providers, constrained capacity allocation during shortages or rapid growth, GPU infrastructure economics familiarity, experience recovering material service credits, experience establishing vendor-management functions at hyperscalers or AI infrastructure companies.
