Datadog is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to drive high-priority, cross-functional programs that are too complex for any single team to own. This role operates at the intersection of engineering depth and organizational reach, partnering with engineering teams to solve deeply technical problems at scale.
Key responsibilities include owning large cross-functional programs spanning multiple engineering organizations, product, and business functions. You will proactively surface systemic risks, cross-pod dependencies, and organizational friction before they become escalations. You'll build and maintain SVP-level visibility through tracked KPIs on Datadog's highest-priority initiatives, using technical credibility and product domain expertise to bridge gaps between functions where misalignment is costly.
The role emphasizes engineering automation and AI-powered solutions. You will identify repeatable program archetypes and engineer their lifecycles end-to-end with AI solutions, with the goal of making programs run themselves. You'll build automation that reduces coordination overhead, allowing engineers and PMs to focus on work requiring human judgment. You'll contribute to the TPM toolkit including AI-powered risk synthesis, dependency tracking, stakeholder mapping, and program templates.
Success requires technical depth, product domain expertise, and AI systems literacy—understanding how AI solutions work, where they fail, and the scope of those failures. The technical bar is higher with AI complexity in the picture. You'll see what no single team can see and own the solution, driving the company's most technically complex and consequential bets through cross-functional agreement, organizational visibility, and influence.
