Mistral is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead human data operations for model development, bridging the gap between real-world use cases and model capabilities across STEM verticals.
You will partner closely with science and product teams to build high-quality datasets that accelerate progress on critical model capabilities, skills, and behaviors. Your responsibilities include managing contractor teams and vendor relationships to support both agile and scaled data collection campaigns with subject matter experts, spanning sourcing, contracts, onboarding, training, and performance monitoring.
You will oversee and track the progress of collection campaigns, building dashboards to monitor throughput, budget, and quality metrics. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll own communications with science, product, and infrastructure teams to anticipate risks, ensure data needs are met, and implement tooling for efficient annotation and data delivery.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3 years' experience managing technical programs in research or data-related fields. You should have strong understanding of contractor and vendor management, proficiency in Python (SQL a plus), and excellent project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously. Strong communication and stakeholder management are critical. You're highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive under pressure. You're a proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset, genuinely enthusiastic about new technologies and AI research, and comfortable with hands-on operational work.
Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions—from frontier models to developer tools and applications—partnering with enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector. The team is distributed globally and values creativity, low ego, and team spirit.
