Mistral is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead and scale human data annotation operations for its Code team. This role bridges research, product, engineering, and annotation teams, serving as a critical link in accelerating AI research and development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the code research team to develop data strategies and translate research needs into operationalizable human data annotation campaigns
- Driving end-to-end human data annotation campaigns, from scoping through delivery, while balancing data quality, budget, and timeline constraints
- Managing a data quality assurance team responsible for designing and implementing rigorous, scalable quality control processes, including automated and manual checks, synthesizing insights, and driving continuous improvement
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with annotation teams (contractors, vendors) across sourcing, contracts, onboarding, training, and performance monitoring
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience combining software engineering and technical program management
- Strong technical foundation in Python
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience leading teams with a collaborative, low-ego mindset
- Comfort with hands-on, operational work in fast-paced environments
- High organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
Desirable experience includes proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, React), background in data collection/annotation/QA operations, vendor/contractor management experience, and familiarity with LLMs.
