Anthropic is building custom hardware systems to run frontier AI models on some of the world's largest accelerator fleets. This Technical Program Manager role owns the end-to-end execution of these hardware systems—from architecture and specifications through production deployment and fleet integration.
You will drive the program that transforms hardware architecture into shipped boards, racks, and systems. This includes managing ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers), contract manufacturers, and component vendors on the supply side, while coordinating with silicon, firmware, infrastructure software, supply chain, and datacenter teams internally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the integrated hardware systems program plan across board, chassis, rack, and interconnect through EVT/DVT/PVT phases, qualification, and production ramp, serving as the source of truth on schedule, risk, and readiness.
- Driving execution with external partners: SOWs, build schedules, deliverable tracking, factory readiness, and escalation management.
- Establishing and running the NPI (New Product Introduction) cadence—build matrix, engineering reviews, DFx, issue triage, and exit criteria—keeping processes lightweight for a senior team.
- Owning platform bring-up and validation: lab and pilot-rack logistics, firmware/BMC/diagnostics coordination, test coverage, and reliability targets before fleet deployment.
- Managing critical interfaces: silicon (samples, package, power/thermal), datacenter (power, cooling, rack integration), infrastructure software (management plane, provisioning, telemetry), and supply chain (long-lead components, allocation).
- Running partner and technology evaluations as a program, landing build/buy/co-design recommendations.
- Owning program communication across architects, engineers, and executives.
- Developing AI-assisted approaches to hardware program management—issue synthesis, build-readiness checking, spec/BOM consistency, vendor-report analysis.
Required qualifications: 8+ years in hardware systems/NPI program management for compute, networking, storage, or accelerator platforms. Direct ownership of at least one platform from concept through volume production. Working technical fluency across power delivery, thermal, mechanical, high-speed interconnect, board design, and system management. Experience managing ODMs/CMs and vendors. Track record of standing up program mechanisms on early-stage hardware efforts. Strong written communication. Comfort with high autonomy in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Preferred: AI/ML accelerator systems experience (GPU, TPU, custom ASIC), HPC, or hyperscale datacenter platforms. First-generation custom-silicon system bring-up through fleet deployment. Liquid-cooled or high-density rack architectures. Chip-package-system interface coordination. Datacenter integration and fleet-scale reliability programs. Practical AI tool experience. BS/MS in EE, CE, ME, or equivalent.
