Notion is hiring a Technical Program Manager to own the systems, data, and process work behind billing, revenue recognition, financial close, and audit controls. This is a strategic role sitting between Finance/Accounting and Engineering/Data/Product teams. You will not write code or design architecture; instead, you'll decide what gets built, in what order, and why it matters. Your core responsibilities include: **Product & Pricing Launches**: Act as Finance's technical counterpart on new product, pricing, and packaging launches. Translate commercial models into requirements across order capture, rating, billing, tax, revenue recognition, and reporting. Define "revenue-ready" criteria, clarify ownership, and identify which risks are still cheap to fix before go-live. **Launch Trade-offs & Post-Launch Accountability**: When launch dates and systems reality conflict, broker scoped manual workarounds with clear owners, costs, and expiration dates, plus a path to automation. After launch, own billing accuracy, exception rates, control operation, and readiness to scale to 10x volume. **Finance Systems Roadmaps**: Independently own multi-quarter delivery roadmaps for ERP, billing/subscription management, CPQ, revenue subledger, procurement, and reporting layers. Run cross-functional working groups with Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Data, and Security, with clear accountability and executive-ready updates. **Operating Rhythm & Metrics**: Establish intake, prioritization, decision logs, early risk escalation, and a small set of metrics showing whether work is actually improving operations. Flag early when scope and capacity misalign. **Process & Data Lineage**: Map current-state processes and data flows end-to-end. Identify and fix breaks: reconciliation gaps, recurring manual entries, load-bearing spreadsheets, competing sources of truth. Partner with Data Engineering on definitions and data contracts so finance metrics tie cleanly to source systems. **IT General Controls (ITGC)**: Drive ITGC workstreams across financial systems: logical access, segregation of duties, change management, SDLC/CI-CD, job scheduling, data interfaces. Partner with Internal Audit on scoping and control design. Serve as the systems point of contact for internal and external audit walkthroughs, translating between control and engineering language, and driving deficiencies to root cause and validation. **AI-Assisted Workflows**: Build AI-assisted workflows that expand team capacity. Hold them to real standards: defined tasks, output quality evaluation, explicit human review gates on financial reporting, and documentation for reproducibility. You'll report to the Lead Technical Program Manager for Data, Biztech & AI Transformation within EPD, with high-level direction and clear priorities from your manager, plus independent ownership of delivery. The role is based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office anchor days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Required: 5+ years in technical program management, business systems, finance transformation, or related field, with substantial time on finance or revenue systems. Public-company or IPO-track experience is a strong plus. Working fluency in finance operations (not necessarily accounting background, but solid understanding of finance processes).
