The company's founding team comprises world-class researchers in AI, chemistry, and engineering, working on critical challenges including energy, clean water, advanced computing, and carbon capture.
As Technical Program Manager with AI/ML expertise, you will bridge high-level AI research with physical lab implementation. You'll build and execute the program management framework that translates scientific objectives into scalable materials breakthroughs.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Leadership & Research Integration: Lead internal technical programs across AI/ML model development, data workflows, and machine learning infrastructure. Act as connective tissue between AI researchers and materials scientists. Translate scientific and business objectives into executable plans, aligning commercial, research, and engineering teams. Close the loop between experimental results and AI research cycles to continuously improve accuracy and accelerate discovery. Own planning and delivery of projects, including compute requirements, resource management, timeline mapping, and risk management.
Partner & Customer Collaboration: Lead technical programs with industry partners and research institutions as primary program contact. Facilitate technical discussions between internal teams and external stakeholders. Drive project scoping and proposal writing. Manage joint development initiatives and coordinate customer pilot programs from conception through deployment.
Process & Operations: Work with the global TPM team to refine scalable processes. Implement metrics for tracking technical milestones and program outcomes. Coordinate compliance and regulatory considerations. Support IP and scientific publication processes. Foster interdisciplinary team culture and manage organizational scaling. Use data to drive continuous improvements.
Required qualifications: Strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related Natural Science/Engineering field. Proven experience as Technical Program Manager in AI/ML domain with deep understanding of model architecture, cloud computing, and software development lifecycle. Strong leadership and cross-functional facilitation capabilities. Ability to navigate ambiguity and maintain cohesion across multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent stakeholder management skills influencing both technical researchers and non-technical partners. Strategic thinking and problem-solving with comfort in changing priorities.
Bonus qualifications: Materials Science, Experimental Chemistry, or Physics background. HPC infrastructure or scientific data management experience. Familiarity with molecular simulation software, quantum chemistry packages, or cheminformatics tools.
Role based in Amsterdam office with expectation of three days per week in-office. Regular travel to Berlin and other locations for collaboration and project work.
