The Technical Operations Coordinator is a hands-on individual-contributor role serving as the day-to-day bridge between the CTO and R&D and Operations teams. This is a trusted support position with no line authority, focused on keeping the CTO connected, informed, and extended across the organization.
Key responsibilities include acting as the liaison between technical and operational teams, ensuring accurate information flow in both directions. The role involves preparing the CTO's recurring reports, summaries, trackers, and briefing materials covering R&D progress, operations status, budgets, and risks. The coordinator owns the reliable, accurate operational picture across both teams.
The coordinator will travel to operational sites to represent the CTO when she cannot attend in person, taking on delegated tasks and acting as her proxy on clearly defined matters. This includes tracking key techno-economic indicators such as cost per plant, production throughput, and scale-up assumptions across pilot operations. The role also involves flagging regulatory and IP timeline risks in a support capacity, keeping deadlines visible without owning underlying strategy.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of cross-functional coordination or direct support experience to a senior leader, ideally in a program/project coordinator, operations coordinator, or executive support role. Background in deeptech, biotech, industrial technology, or venture-backed startups is valued. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or biological/life sciences is a plus but not required. Success depends on structured thinking, trustworthiness, follow-through, and the ability to turn scattered updates into clear briefs. The candidate must operate effectively without formal authority, build genuine trust across teams, and adjust fluidly as priorities shift.
