As Technical Lead for Application Development, you will guide a squad of engineers in designing and delivering Versana's real-time syndicated loan platform. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring you to drive technical direction, ensure delivery excellence, and foster innovation across the team.
You will work closely with architects, product managers, project managers, and UX designers to translate client needs into high-impact solutions. Your responsibilities span technical delivery, architectural leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Delivery: Oversee technical direction in collaboration with architects; drive successful delivery of solutions ensuring quality, performance, and scalability; translate product and UX requirements into implementation; build test automation across the full stack; optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical authority and primary point of contact for the squad; guide architectural discussions, code reviews, and implementation decisions; enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and security best practices; identify and introduce new tools and frameworks; establish and evolve the technical foundation and culture.
Collaboration & Communication: Partner with Product Managers and Technical Project Managers on scope, timelines, and priorities; communicate project status, risks, and dependencies proactively; collaborate with other leads to ensure cross-squad alignment.
Mentorship & Team Development: Provide day-to-day technical mentorship and unblock challenges; onboard and support new engineers; collaborate with People Managers on development opportunities and performance feedback; improve team productivity through process and tooling enhancements.
Requirements:
Must Have:
- BS or BA in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of full-stack development experience (Java/Spring Boot backend and React/Angular with TypeScript/JavaScript frontend)
- Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
- Proven experience leading technical projects or teams in an agile environment
- Proficiency with REST APIs, GraphQL, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn, teach, and grow in a collaborative environment
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing platforms
- Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber)
- Exposure to advanced UI frameworks, charting libraries, or design systems (AG Grid, D3)
- Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design principles
- Experience in financial services, particularly syndicated loans or leveraged finance
- Track record of building scalable enterprise applications within a regulated domain
