GovWorx is seeking a Technical Engagement Specialist to join its Technical Implementation and Customer Support teams. The role combines remote technical work with occasional on-site field engineering to support emergency communications centers (ECCs) across the United States in integrating their systems with GovWorx's AI-powered CommsCoach platform. You will work directly with customers' IT and communications teams to ensure successful integration of telephony audio and related systems into the secure cloud environment. Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining integrations between customer telephony/audio systems, CAD systems, and GovWorx applications. You'll troubleshoot audio connections and network issues, including SIP and other streaming protocols, and assist with setup and configuration of hardware devices used for audio or data ingestion. The role requires strong collaboration with PSAP/ECC technical staff, vendors, and system administrators to ensure smooth deployments and excellent customer experiences. You'll participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support as needed, and travel to customer sites (up to 20%) for system installations, testing, and troubleshooting. Required qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of experience in IT, telecommunications, or systems engineering, with familiarity in public safety and 9-1-1 center environments. Strong knowledge of audio streaming protocols and telephony integration (VoIP, SIP, RTP, PBX systems) is essential, along with proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server environments, networking, and system configuration. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, with the ability to work independently in high-pressure situations. U.S. citizenship or work authorization is required, and you must pass FBI CJIS fingerprint and criminal background checks at national and individual state levels. Preferred qualifications include experience with logging recorders, familiarity with CAD, radio, or 911 telephony systems, and prior experience with SaaS or cloud-based solutions.
