LAP Coffee is a specialty coffee brand on a mission to make high-quality coffee more affordable, digital, and convenient while maintaining a human-centered experience. The company operates stores in Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg, with expansion planned to Frankfurt and Cologne.
As Team Lead in Munich, you will own day-to-day store operations and lead a team of baristas. You report directly to the leadership team and have significant autonomy and visibility within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a barista team, organizing shifts and ensuring alignment with company goals and culture
- Maintain operational excellence across all store functions, including customer service, sales, and profitability
- Build community relationships with local businesses and residents to drive brand loyalty
- Oversee team scheduling to ensure punctuality and readiness
- Master and apply product, service, and brand training playbooks for consistency
- Ensure proper product handling, freshness, and quality for food and beverages
- Implement waste-reduction systems by monitoring and adjusting inventory par levels
- Maintain health and safety compliance standards
- Track and report daily KPIs, inventory counts, and supply transfers
- Collaborate with Brand and Marketing teams on customer growth strategies
- Monitor key store metrics and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop baristas into future General Managers
- Contribute hands-on support during busy periods and behind the counter when needed
This is an early-stage startup role with high ownership, impact, and visibility. You will work closely with an experienced leadership team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in hospitality or retail (Shift Lead, Head Barista, Junior Manager, F&B Manager)
- Strong track record in team scaling, inventory management, and supply chain management
- Coffee industry experience is a significant plus
- Entrepreneurial, solution-focused, and adaptable to fast-paced startup environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Proven ability to spot growth opportunities, test ideas, and execute within tight budgets
- Willingness to travel occasionally for new opportunities
- Fluency in English and German (required)
