As a Tax & Accounting Operations Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Tax & Accounting teams, ensuring processes run reliably and efficiently. Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinate recurring tax and accounting workflows, tracking deadlines, tasks and open items
- Maintain client, engagement and process data across operational systems
- Manage incoming correspondence and documentation, including communication with tax authorities and external advisers
- Collect, organise and prepare documents for accounting, financial statements, tax returns, audits and other recurring processes for both client service delivery and internal compliance
- Support client onboarding and migrations, including data migration, operational system setup, contract creation and client invoicing
- Maintain clear documentation, checklists and status overviews to support quality and timely service delivery
- Work with tools such as DATEV, Asana, Slack and internal systems to keep workflows structured and transparent
- Support statutory and administrative processes including filings, publications and deadline tracking
- Work closely with Tax, Accounting and other internal teams as well as external advisers
- Help continuously improve and standardise processes, tools and documentation
- Explore how automation and AI can make recurring operational work more efficient and scalable
The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 3 days per week in the Berlin Mitte office, plus up to 6 remote calendar weeks per year. You'll work with a diverse team of 130+ employees from 40+ countries.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years of working experience in an administrative, operational or coordination role, ideally in tax, accounting, finance, professional services or comparable environment
- Highly organised, reliable and comfortable managing multiple parallel tasks and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and care for complete and accurate documentation
- Ownership mindset with proactive follow-up on open topics
- Comfortable with modern digital tools and quick learner for new systems
- Experience with DATEV, Asana, Slack or similar workflow tools is a plus
- Curious about automation and AI, interested in using technology to improve workflows
- Enjoys working across teams and communicating with different internal and external stakeholders
- Pragmatic, hands-on and interested in improving process organisation
- Fluent in German and English
