Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack—from energy generation to AI workloads—to power the world's most ambitious AI compute. As Director of Sustainability, you will lead the integration of sustainable design standards and construction practices across Crusoe's Digital Infrastructure Group, combining deep technical expertise in green building with strategic leadership across corporate sustainability initiatives. You will drive sustainable design and construction across data center projects, partnering with internal teams (design engineering, real estate, construction) and external stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors) to embed sustainability from inception through delivery. You'll monitor and improve key metrics including Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), and Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE), and serve as a subject matter expert on green building frameworks like LEED and Green Globes. You will own the strategy for measuring and reducing embodied carbon across projects, driving adoption of whole-life carbon assessment methodologies and engaging with suppliers to advance low-carbon material availability. You'll evaluate and implement technologies that enhance energy, water, and operational efficiency—including AI-driven energy management, water reuse systems, high-efficiency mechanical/electrical systems, onsite renewable energy, and grid interactivity strategies. Beyond infrastructure, you'll support the development of Crusoe's broader sustainability strategy covering energy, water, waste, biodiversity, and supply chain. You'll contribute to sustainability reporting (GHG inventory, ESG disclosures) with focus on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, shape communications for diverse audiences (executives, engineers, clients, investors, community), and manage relationships with third-party consultants, certification bodies, and sustainability vendors. You bring 8–12 years of progressive experience in sustainability, environmental management, or ESG strategy, ideally in data centers, cloud infrastructure, technology, or energy sectors. You have deep knowledge of data center energy consumption, cooling systems, and operational efficiency metrics; strong expertise in sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD); and a proven track record developing and executing enterprise-wide sustainability programs in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills are essential. Travel up to 15% required.
