OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building advanced AI infrastructure at scale through strategic partnerships and self-built campuses. The Supply Chain organization ensures critical infrastructure components—compute systems, networking equipment, and integrated rack solutions—are sourced, manufactured, qualified, and delivered with the speed and reliability required to support frontier AI development.
As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead strategic execution across sourcing, supplier operations, manufacturing quality, and infrastructure delivery for OpenAI's AI infrastructure portfolio. This is a people leadership role overseeing multidisciplinary teams responsible for strategic sourcing, manufacturing quality engineering, and technical program management.
Key responsibilities include: leading and developing teams across Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain Program Management; owning supplier strategy for compute, networking, storage, and infrastructure hardware; establishing long-term sourcing strategies that improve resilience, scalability, cost, and supplier performance; partnering with Hardware Engineering to align supply chain strategies with future hardware roadmaps; driving manufacturing readiness, supplier quality, production ramp planning, and operational readiness across multiple hardware programs; building executive operating reviews tracking supplier performance, manufacturing readiness, deployment risk, quality metrics, and supply continuity; leading supplier executive relationships and contract execution with key manufacturing partners; aligning hardware availability with deployment schedules through partnership with Finance, Capacity Planning, Infrastructure Delivery, and Hardware Operations; developing scalable operational processes supporting rapid infrastructure expansion across multiple regions; and driving continuous improvement across sourcing operations, manufacturing quality, supplier performance, and infrastructure delivery execution.
You will balance long-term supplier strategy with day-to-day execution, establish scalable operating mechanisms, strengthen supplier partnerships, manage complex cross-functional programs, and ensure OpenAI can rapidly deploy AI infrastructure without compromising quality, cost, or reliability.
