Radiant is building the world's first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company's flagship product, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed for rapid deployment to hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Founded in 2020, Radiant is preparing for initial customer deliveries in 2028.
You will serve as Supply Chain Manager, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring components, materials, and services for Radiant's microreactor systems. Working closely with Supplier Development Engineers, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams, you will build and maintain a resilient, cost-effective, and reliable supply base while ensuring suppliers meet stringent quality, technical, commercial, and delivery expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, capacity, and strategic fit in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contract terms to achieve optimal value.
- Contract Management: Develop, review, and manage supplier agreements including Master Supply Agreements, NDAs, and PO terms.
- Purchase Order Management: Oversee the complete PO lifecycle from requisition through closure, ensuring timely delivery.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers as primary point of contact for commercial matters.
- Cost Analysis & Optimization: Analyze market trends and quotations to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive reduction initiatives.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate commercial and supply chain risks including supplier financial health, capacity constraints, and geopolitical factors.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on procurement metrics such as on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier responsiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, quality, and project management to integrate technical requirements and resolve supply issues.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to development of procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
Deliverables include successfully negotiated contracts with critical suppliers, managed PO portfolios aligned with project schedules, demonstrated cost savings, comprehensive supplier performance reports, effective risk mitigation plans, streamlined procurement processes, and strong internal and external relationships.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or technology sectors
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract management
- Strong understanding of procurement processes (RFQ/RFP, PO management, supplier evaluation)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard office software
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to supplier locations (up to 30%)
- Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo headquarters
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in nuclear energy industry or with nuclear codes, standards, and regulations
- Familiarity with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME BPVC Section III & VIII
- Experience conducting supplier audits, product and process inspections, and investigations
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and their procurement implications
- Understanding of supply chain dynamics within energy or nuclear sectors
