Lumilens is building critical photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, including chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines. The company is Series B funded and led by industry veterans focused on unlocking faster, cooler, and more efficient computing.
The Supply Chain Manager will lead end-to-end supply chain management for optical and photonic components including lasers, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), photodetectors, and fiber array units (FAUs). This role owns supplier identification, qualification, negotiation, and relationship management across a global supply base while ensuring supplier capacity, lead times, and allocations align with build schedules and ramp requirements.
Key responsibilities include translating plans and forecasts into supplier capacity requirements, monitoring lead times and delivery commitments, coordinating with planning and production teams to align capacity with prototype and production schedules, and developing supply plans that balance demand forecasts, inventory targets, and manufacturing capabilities. The role leads supplier qualification activities in partnership with engineering and quality teams, assesses supplier financial health and manufacturing capacity, supports commercial negotiations for pricing and capacity commitments, and owns cost-reduction roadmaps for key commodities.
Supply risk management is critical, including maintaining visibility of long-lead and critical-path optical components, proactively identifying and mitigating supply risks such as allocation constraints and single-source exposure, and building contingency and dual-source plans. The manager will partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and program management to translate product requirements into scalable supply chain strategies, work closely with engineering on component specifications and alternate part qualification, and support contract manufacturing partners.
Analytics and reporting include tracking supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality, cost trends, capacity utilization) and maintaining a sourcing and supply roadmap and risk dashboard for optics/photonics commodities.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain, or related field, 5+ years of sourcing/procurement and supply chain experience, proven track record negotiating supply agreements and managing supplier relationships across Asia and global regions, and excellent analytical and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
