Isar Aerospace is seeking a Supply Chain Management Specialist to drive efficient and reliable movement of goods and materials across national and international locations. In this role, you will organize transportation operations, ensuring seamless logistics across the supply chain while supporting the delivery of high-quality aerospace products on time and on budget.
Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating transportation, storage, and distribution of goods both nationally and internationally. You will schedule timely transportation services, monitor shipments, and select appropriate transport means (land, sea, air freight) while arranging logistics with carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders. Contract negotiation with drivers and vendors is a core part of the role, as is generating, processing, and administering detailed transportation documents and invoices for full traceability and audit compliance.
You will track transportation budgets and expenses, maintain cost targets, and monitor service provider performance. Developing and implementing transportation policies and procedures ensures compliance with industry regulations, plant standards, and shipping requirements. The role requires establishing priorities, tracking assignments, and ensuring resource availability for efficient operations while maintaining schedules and deadlines. Collaboration with loading and warehouse personnel is essential to meet shipment goals and optimize logistics processes.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field, with proven experience in transport organization, logistics, or freight purchasing at national and international levels. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards (land, sea, air freight) is essential, along with experience in contract negotiation and vendor management. Solid knowledge of customs procedures, export/import processes, export control regulations, and dangerous goods handling is required. You must demonstrate excellent organizational and multitasking skills, analytical mindset with attention to detail, cost optimization focus, and effective communication in English (written and spoken). Problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach are critical.
Bonus skills include proficiency in logistics and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and German language capabilities.
