Amca is rebuilding America's industrial base for critical defense and aerospace manufacturing. The company operates seven factories nationwide and produces avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams. The Supply Chain Engineer role combines two core responsibilities: (1) product ownership of build-to-print customer contracts from award through first article to rate production, and (2) supplier quality and reliability management. Product Ownership: You serve as the single point of accountability for assigned contracts. This includes decomposing customer technical data packages into detailed requirements matrices, building and owning program schedules (long lead procurement, tooling, first article, qualification, delivery), driving cross-functional execution, and serving as the primary technical interface to customers on status, manufacturability, deviations, waivers, and source inspection. Supplier Quality & Defect Resolution: You own supplier-caused defects end-to-end—containment, scope identification, disposition, return to vendor, and closure. You run material review and nonconformance processes, issue and evaluate supplier corrective and preventive action requests, lead failure investigations and root cause analysis, and drive measurable reduction in vendor defects over time. Source Qualification & Development: You evaluate and onboard new suppliers through capability assessment, quality system review, and onsite audit against AS9100, NADCAP, and program requirements. You own first article inspection (AS9102) and production readiness, define and communicate technical requirements, provide onsite technical support, and build supplier improvement plans. Analysis & Cross-Functional Work: You analyze supplier quality and delivery data to isolate systemic gaps, identify and mitigate supply chain risk (single-source exposure, capacity constraints, long lead items, obsolescence), work with design and build engineers to translate design intent into supplier requirements, and develop standards and documentation for repeatable execution as Amca scales. First-year expectations include full ownership of assigned hardware, met contractual milestones, zero customer escapes, no avoidable schedule slips, measurable reduction in supplier defects, and closed corrective actions with objective evidence.
