As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Impulse, you will ensure the quality and performance of components and materials from suppliers, working across cross-functional teams to maintain high standards throughout the product lifecycle. You'll leverage technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and optimize supplier relationships. Key responsibilities include managing vendor performance issue tickets and prescribing specific actions to improve quality and eliminate recurring non-conformances. You'll qualify parts and oversee manufacturing processes with vendors, review and assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, and handle new supplier onboarding and audit evaluations. You'll own and manage non-conformances identified at vendors through Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs) and during production, partnering with vendors to implement new processes that reduce recurring issues and mitigate supply chain risks. You'll drive improvements in existing quality management processes while collaborating with vendors to enhance their performance. This includes managing containment, receiving, and precision inspection non-conformances, developing resolutions for existing issues, and identifying improvements to reduce the overall issue ticket landscape. You'll provide technical support onsite at suppliers to ensure part reliability and collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure high-quality parts and services meet all requirements. Additional duties include analyzing quality metrics to identify trends and root causes of systemic issues, executing non-conformance management processes (SDR, MRB, RTV, CAPA, and Production Issue Ticket reviews), and supporting containment actions related to non-conforming products. You'll identify product locations, coordinate with Supply Chain Reliability Engineers to mitigate flight risks, and conduct root cause analysis. Required qualifications: 2+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, or quality-related fields, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is expected. Knowledge of component manufacturing processes, quality standards, and certifications (AS9100, ISO 9001) is required. You must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, and be willing to travel 25% of the time.
