Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its Quonset, Rhode Island facility. The role focuses on developing and executing quality processes for subsea components including connectors, wet cables, mechanical parts, and batteries used in Anduril's next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).
You will collaborate with design teams and suppliers to establish quality requirements early in the development cycle and evaluate manufacturing technologies. Key responsibilities include leveraging expertise in electronics materials, design for manufacturability (DFM), and inspection techniques to support internal design processes and guide progression from prototyping through high-volume production scaling.
You will drive supplier quality development throughout product development stages, conducting design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification activities. This includes reviewing supplier processes and capabilities to ensure alignment with electrical performance and subsea requirements, and ensuring supplier QC processes match incoming quality checks.
The role requires partnering with development engineering, product quality, sourcing, and program management teams to deliver predictable supply and manage exceptions, containments, and deviations. You will analyze key and critical characteristics, develop measurement systems, and lead supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development).
Additional responsibilities include owning supplier risk elimination, supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, conducting supplier audits, leading onsite reviews for contract deliverables, and collaborating on establishing a US-based supplier network to strengthen domestic sourcing and reduce supply chain risk. You will also standardize processes and techniques across production sites.
