Mind Robotics is building Physical AI for industrial deployment, starting with factory automation. This role is to build the supplier industrialization (SI) function from the ground up as the company scales from prototype builds to volume production. You will own end-to-end industrialization for PCBAs, electronic assemblies, and tactile sensing components. Responsibilities include defining the SI playbook, stage-gate requirements, and the full PPAP/qualification process (control plans, pFMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, capability studies, first-article inspection, run-at-rate). You'll engage with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineering from the design phase to drive DFM/DFA/DFT reviews and influence component selection early enough to change designs, not just react. Key activities: identify and assess suppliers; lead technical audits of manufacturing capability, quality systems, and process maturity; travel to supplier sites (CMs/CEMs, PCB fabs, sensor manufacturers) to develop processes and validate lines; lead new product introduction at supplier sites including SMT line bring-up, test correlation, and yield improvement; develop supply chain readiness plans to scale from tens to thousands of units; establish supplier quality management including incoming quality criteria, SPC deployment, and root-cause analysis; work with sourcing on supplier strategy, should-cost, and risk mitigation; and set the foundation for scaling the SI team by defining hiring needs and building systems. You need 7+ years in supplier industrialization, supplier quality, NPI, or manufacturing engineering in hardware-intensive industries (robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace). You must be fluent in PPAP, APQP, pFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, DOE, and capability analysis. Hands-on experience taking products through EVT/DVT/PVT builds, tooling qualification, and ramp is essential. An engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar) and ability to read schematics and drawings are required. You should be comfortable auditing and developing suppliers globally, operating as both architect and operator, and thriving in ambiguity with urgency. Experience with tactile sensing, humanoid/mobile robotics, Six Sigma/Lean certification, or leading SIE/SQE functions is a plus.
