Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced technology, AI, and autonomy. The Supplier Engineering Manager role drives strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
• Conduct supplier selection for specific products, leveraging approved supplier lists and managing the full supplier lifecycle from concept through production.
• Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-off analysis, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategy via full market knowledge, supplier rationalization, and commodity pricing plans to drive efficiency and cost reduction.
• Drive development and consolidation of manufacturing BOMs, working with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers while maintaining high flexibility.
• Manage all New Product Introduction (NPI) component procurement on-time and correctly to scale manufacturing operations, including supplier CAPEX verification throughout NPI.
• Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility; complete BOM risk assessments and develop per-part analysis plans.
• Lead cost engineering activities to converge bottom-up cost curves to product cost targets, maximizing TCO across product lifecycles.
• Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation; reduce supply chain complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization.
• Ensure component qualifications are completed by relevant stakeholders ahead of production need dates.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Background in design and development of electronics devices, advanced sourcing activities (commodity/sourcing manager roles), supplier development (technology, process, supply chain), and early supplier engagement ahead of product/engineering requirement realization.
• Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component and product levels.
• Familiarity with developing high-tech products in high-mix, low-volume environments.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or other related technical degree.
• Must be eligible to obtain an Australian NV1 security clearance.
