Form Energy is hiring a Supervisor to lead the R&D Subscale Build Team at their Somerville, MA headquarters. This team is responsible for creating scaled-down iron-air batteries from electrode process teams and delivering consistent production centered on the latest internal testing advancements. The role focuses on scaling, stabilizing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to meet internal demand.
You will manage a team of 5+ technicians, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to support their development. Key responsibilities include overseeing shift production to ensure targets are met efficiently while maintaining all required protocols and safety standards. You'll work cross-functionally with R&D, materials, and process engineering teams to troubleshoot production challenges and maintain high quality and throughput standards.
The role involves championing safety for a growing team working with novel processes, aiding in the introduction and scale-up of flexible internal R&D processes, and managing team resources while supporting cross-functional requests. You'll facilitate career development and training for team members while advocating for continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with new work instructions.
Required qualifications include 5+ years in R&D assembly or manufacturing environments and 2+ years with people management responsibilities. You should demonstrate flexibility in leading teams through operational changes, strong technical fluency with digital tools and ticketing systems, and well-developed communication and collaboration skills. Experience with cross-functional coordination is essential.
