Anthropic is seeking a Strategy & Operations professional to join the Office of the Chief Commercial Officer. This is a high-impact individual contributor role working directly with the CCO, go-to-market leadership, and company leadership on Anthropic's highest-priority commercial initiatives.
You will own workstreams end-to-end, tackling problems that span multiple teams (Product, Finance, Legal, Sales, Safeguards, Research). One week you might run the go-to-market side of a pressing situation—from customer communications to executive readouts. The next week you might build analysis for a resourcing decision or new program and present recommendations to the CCO. You'll have an unusually broad view of how the company makes decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive priority go-to-market initiatives from plan to delivery, removing blockers and connecting teams
- Build analysis, draft documents/decks, and synthesize input from many teams into actionable recommendations for executives
- Prepare content for the CCO and leadership team (weekly staff meetings, CEO office updates, Board materials, leadership offsites)
- Track the go-to-market organization's top priorities and maintain current visibility of status, owners, and risks
- Act as a bridge between go-to-market and Product, Finance, Legal, Safeguards, and Research teams
- Step in where something important lacks a clear owner, run it until it has a permanent home, then hand it over cleanly
- Close out same-day executive requests quickly and to a high standard
You will report to the CCO's chief of staff. This is an internal-facing role with significant autonomy and the ability to influence company-wide decisions.
Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society. The company is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy and operations, a chief of staff team, or similarly rigorous environment working with senior executives
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems well and reach clear recommendations
- Ability to build analysis independently (spreadsheets, SQL, or Claude), verify against a second source, and explain methodology
- Clear writing and speaking skills for executive audiences
- Willingness to handle both strategic work and operational details (trackers, follow-ups)
- Comfort with significant autonomy, shifting priorities, attention to detail, and knowing when to escalate
- Ability to build trust quickly with senior people across the company
- Use of AI tools as a core part of work
- Alignment with Anthropic's mission and commitment to safe, useful AI
Strong candidates may also have:
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or enterprise software, or exposure to go-to-market strategy, sales operations, or customer success
- Experience running a product launch, program office, or other cross-functional effort with many owners and a fixed date
- Familiarity with how large enterprises buy and adopt technology (security, legal, procurement review)
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a field relevant to the role.
