Strategy & Operations at Neara focuses on executing top strategic priorities and driving tangible outcomes. The role involves embedding with teams to move critical initiatives from conception to delivery, including standing up new verticals, de-risking high-stakes customer projects, and identifying cross-sell opportunities. You'll work across functions—Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success—to structure, track, and unblock major initiatives while maintaining leadership visibility on progress toward strategic goals.
The posting offers two tracks: AI & Engineering (embedding with technical teams to accelerate delivery and adoption, working with data and models) and Generalist (moving across the business to solve varied problems, from customer projects to process redesign to new vertical buildout). Both tracks share the same fundamentals but reflect where your deepest experience lies.
Key responsibilities include: identifying and embedding with teams on quarterly strategic priorities; executing high-impact internal projects across functions; driving execution and transparency on cross-functional initiatives; partnering with Sales and CS to unlock customer value and identify expansion opportunities; building operating structures and GTM motions for new business lines; and gap-filling wherever the business has critical needs.
This is described as a hands-on, execution-focused role—not a classic strategy function. You'll spend time embedded with teams shipping real outcomes, often involving some code, data, or product work, rather than creating market maps or presentations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Typically 3+ years in operations or strategy at a high-growth startup, in consulting, or in a technical/product role, with a bias toward execution
- Strong analytical ability: turn raw data into clear structure, sound logic, and actionable decisions
- Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity; ability to pick up new concepts, industries, and technical contexts quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication; credibility across technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders
- Practical, low-ego mindset with enthusiasm for operational execution and strategy shaping
- Hands-on technical foundations: some experience with coding, product, or engineering (not required to be an engineer, but must be comfortable getting technical)
- Bonus: enterprise SaaS or energy/utilities experience
- For AI & Engineering track: data science or data engineering background, with experience working alongside AI or engineering teams
- For Generalist track: startup operations, consulting with strong execution bent, or product/technical role with technical fluency
