Salary: USD 175,000 - 250,000 / annual
Traversal is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) platform for enterprises, autonomously diagnosing, fixing, and preventing production incidents at scale. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and other top-tier investors, with a team of AI researchers from MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Columbia, and Cornell alongside operators from Google, Meta, Datadog, ServiceNow, and Citadel Securities.
As Strategy & Operations, you'll report to the Head of Operations and own Traversal's highest-priority cross-functional initiatives. This is a generalist role focused on ambiguous, high-stakes problems: you'll scope them, build analysis, and drive execution end-to-end.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own cross-functional strategic projects end-to-end (scoping, analysis, implementation) partnering with Sales, Product, Finance, and Engineering
- Support complex deal closure through structuring, internal approvals, and cross-functional coordination
- Own key parts of the annual operating plan: track progress, flag risks, support leadership course-correction
- Build financial and operational models to support business decision-making
- Build scalable, AI-native systems to streamline workflows and distribute insights
- Act as thought partner to executives on ambiguous problems, bringing structure and perspective
The role is fully in-office, 5 days per week in New York near Madison Square Park. Traversal emphasizes a collaborative, hard-working culture with ownership from day one.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4–6 years of experience: ideally 2–3 years in management consulting, investment banking, or private equity, followed by 1–2 years in an operating role at an early-stage startup
- Track record of owning ambiguous, cross-functional projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable building structured frameworks from scratch
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complex problems into clear executive recommendations
- High ownership mentality with bias toward action; comfortable operating with limited process or precedent
- Generalist mindset: excited to work across pricing, deals, planning, and evolving business needs
NICE TO HAVE:
- Financial fluency and experience building models (FP&A, LTV/CAC, pricing models, revenue build, unit economics)
- Comfort leveraging AI tools to move faster and raise output quality
- Prior experience in deal desk, pricing, or GTM strategy
